Two events on tap for April
The Southeastern Models and Photographers Association will sponsor two events in the month of April.
On Saturday, April 6, SEMPA will return to Huntsville, Alabama's Green Mountain and the Madison County Nature Trail and on April 27 we will be at Callaway Gardens, Georgia.
Hopefully, the temperature will be a lot warmer on Green Mountain this time than it was when we made our last visit there in October.
The spring shoot will follow the same format as the fall shoot with a trade for print shoot in the morning (8:30 a.m. to noon) with the afternoon session, 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. being either TFP or Paid shoots, depending on the model.
Last fall, over 80 models and photographers converged on this lovely mountaintop park, despite very chilly temperatures.
The park staff has said more changing facilities will be made available for the models, in hopes of avoiding the crowded bathroom scenes.
One other change is being made for this spring's shoot. There will be an admission charge of ten dollars for SEMPA members and first time shoot attendees. A fee of twenty-five dollars will be charged for non-members.
Registration will be held the night before at the Radisson Hotel in the hospitality room and the morning of the shoot on Green Mountain or you may add the registration fee to your check when you send in your check.
A get together will be held at the Radisson the night before the shoot for models and photographers to get to know each other. Also shoot rooms will be available for anyone wanting to do any studio shoots on Friday or Saturday nights and Sunday morning.
The Radisson will also have discounted rooms for those attending the Green Mountain shoot at sixty-eight dollars per night.
Final details are still being worked out on the Callaway Gardens Shoot, although the host hotel will be the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn, Alabama, a 45-minute drive from the gardens.
Registration will get underway at 3 p.m. in the hotel lobby. There will also be an opening night reception with a cash bar and snacks.
The Hilton Garden Inn is also offering a special rate of sixty-nine dollars per night. To get this special rate please call 1-800-HILTON.
Those shooting at Callaway will have to get up early since Callaway is one hour ahead of Auburn time and all participants are asked to be at the main gate of Callaway at the gardens opening.
By registering early we will be able to take advantage of a group discounted rate. Plans are to also furnish box lunches for everyone to have a picnic in the gardens.
We are also planning an activity for Saturday night at the hotel.

Radisson and Hilton Garden Inn to offer special rates
The Radisson Hotel in Huntsville, which hosted the first ever SEMPA Mid-Winter Convention, will be offering special rates the weekend of the Green Mountain Photo Shoot, while the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn will offer special rates for the Callaway Gardens shoot.
The Radisson is offering SEMPA members a rate of sixty-eight dollars per night, while the Hilton Garden Inn is sixty-nine dollars per night.
In addition, SEMPA will have a hospitality suite at both hotels for members. Hours will be posted later.

SEMPA Charter Memberships Now Available
For a limited time, those signing up to become members of SEMPA will also have the opportunity to become charter members.
This offer will only be good for the first ?? members or those signing up before March ??.
Yearly membership dues are twenty-five dollars, which include reduced rates for SEMPA functions, a quarterly newsletter and access to the members only section of the new website that will be operating by the middle of April. There will also be a lot of other benefits that will be announced during the year.

Photo Shoot Rooms to be available at Green Mountain Shoot
For those arriving early for the Green Mountain Photo Shoot - a photo shoot room will be available for rent at the rate of ten dollars per hour.
If you are interested in renting this shoot room please get in touch with me as soon as possible as it will be rented on a first come, first serve basis.
As with the convention, the photo shoot room will contain lights and backdrops.
